me in florence

A picture of me, somewhere in Florence. I’ve forgot the name of this place. I can point the place to you on the map but just can’t tell the name of the place out of my mind. I think I’m just bad in memorizing the name of a place in a foreign language.

Firenze Duomo

I think duomo means cathedral in Italian. The Firenze Duomo is special to me as the building is very colourful! It’s a must see in Firenze (Florence). We didn’t go in to visit as it was a Sunday and the duomo was open for prayers only.

It’s partially under renovation. I think maintenance is something hard to keep a building look nice always. Do you agree that maintenance is harder than building it? The duomo wouldn’t be a must to visit if it not being maintained for so well over a few hundred years. This is not just one or two years, but a matter of hundreds of years. It’s not easy at all.

gelato

I think Italian ice-cream is a must try in Italy. You can see gelato (ice-cream) shops everywhere and anywhere. I wonder why Italian like gelato so much. But yes, I had a lot of gelato in Italy as well, had it almost every day. In this pic, fragola gelato, means strawberry ice-cream. This is the very first gelato I had in Italy. Cost? 2 euros. I like the strawberry taste of the ice-cream, as it taste like real strawberry and not artificial flavour. But, I think it’s too sweet. It will be perfect if they put less sugar in it. Oh yes, always ask the price before you buy gelato in Italy. My friend told me that her sister got charged 15 Euros for a few scoops (I think the definition of a few is 2-3 scoops) of gelato in Rome. 15 Euros for a few scoops of gelato is crazy, isn’t it? I’m definitely not paying for that.

Postcards

Taken while shopping for postcard in Florence. I've bought loads of postcards in my 8 days trip. I have to admit that i'm the queen of postcards! Have a guess on how many postcards did i buy. haha

比萨 Pisa

当天从诺丁汉坐了两个多小时的飞机飞到比萨已经是当地下午四点多了。待我们参观比萨最著名的斜塔时，虽然只是下午五点多，但天已经暗了。旅行碰到日短夜长的问题，真的觉得很讨厌。那天晚上我们拍了很多照片，摆了很多pose,但回到来后，我发现我们拍的照片都不好看。大部分的照片都是蒙蒙的，真得让人觉得十分伤心。

我在想，如果比萨这座塔完整无缺，也就是说这塔是直的而非斜的，还会有人愿意来比萨吗？基本上，我觉得比萨只是一个小地方，除了这座著名的斜塔，就没有什么地方可以参观了。我们晚上8点多走在街上时，大部分的店已经打烊了，到处都静悄悄的。那天晚上，我们在想，街上除了我们，难道就没有别人了吗？

对了，明天是圣诞节，祝大家圣诞节快乐！Merry Christmas!

La Tana Restaurant

This is the restaurant we had our first meal in Italy. I highly recomment this restaurant as their food is cheap and good! Do visit this restaurant if you are going to visit Pisa.

Italian restaurants usually serve bread before they serve the food. Just like the Chinese Restaurant in KL serve peanuts before the ordered dishes.

I've forgot the name of this pasta. Yes, this is pasta!

Focaccia con proscuitto crudo e mozzarella
Focaccia is a flat bread brushed with garlic, salt and olive oil. I think this is quite special.

We wanted to order tiramisu in the beginning...but they had sold out tiramisu. :((( So, we ordered truffle ice-cream instead. This is black truffle.

and...white truffle! yummy!!! The ice-creams taste heavenly good!

每次经过茨场街的炒栗子摊子
都受不了那香味的引诱
炒栗子在吉隆坡卖得很贵的
我每次都不舍得买
但是，因为我喜欢吃
到最后还是会掏钱包买的

记得有一次跟家人去泰国旅行
看到街边有卖炒栗子
价钱比吉隆坡便宜
二话不说就买了一公斤
我们几个人在酒店就将一公斤吃完
那种满足感

已经是12年前的事情了

我想也没想就买了一包
