天坛Temple of Heaven

祈年殿 Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests

Temple of Heaven is the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties used to offer sacrifices to the Heaven and to pray for good harvest. It was built in 1420, and it was called the Temple of Heaven and Earth. It was renamed the Temple of Heaven in 1534. The Temple of Heaven is now the largest extant temple building complex of China. It covers an area of 2,700,000 square meters. In 1998, it was listed as one of the World’s Cultural Legacies by the UNESCO.

Omg...i forgot the meaning of the carve...let me think...hmm....

The afternoon when I visited the Temple of Heaven was very cold. We (tour-mates and me) were frozen and hardly move in the strong cold wind. This is my first time experience such cold winter.
